Personal Documentaries.

Safekeeping memories for future generations.

Hearing and recording the truths of our elders has been the chief joy of my work.

In the personal documentary series we have been lucky enough to hear from a wide range of wisdom, please see a few selects below.

Carolyn Mary Williams

Carolyn was the one person in the family who thought about the deep things. She could see so clearly into people and concepts.  With her brilliant support I made a few great life decisions. Her advice was easy to follow because her points were like a breeze: layered and calm if you could listen.

She loved Beethoven and I think she loved him because they both had hard lives.  Carolyn had every right to be the meanest grumpiest person in her later years, but she wasn't. She was kind, empathetic, patient and wise.

She loved John Denver, who was a believer in humans only having two true emotions: fear and love. Grandma experienced both fear and love, and in the end I'd like to think she knew we all loved her and she had nothing to fear in this transition.

I asked her recently why she had painted me as Peter Pan when I was younger,  and she quickly said, “you are Peter Pan!”. She had a way of getting to the heart of things. There was something about her that made you feel that things were possible.

Doreen Lily Nesbit.

Doreen is one of the most selfless people I’ve ever met.

Her dedication to her family and the planet is so fantastically inspiring and something we can all learn from.

She loves to laugh, bringing her intelligent and regal personality aside for a good deep chuckle.

Stray Path is honoured to document the lives of our teachers and guides — Feel free to reach out if you or a loved one would like to put down a lifetime of memories in a beautiful video.
